- How are older men and women encouraged to reflect Jesus’ influence? What about those who are younger? What stands out to you in Paul’s appeal? Are you reflecting Jesus’ influence in your life?
- What do you think it means to live sensibly, righteously, and godly in this present age (2:12)? Are you? How does God’s grace relate to your ability to do so?
Father, Your Son should be making a difference in my life in noticeable ways. Whether young or old, male or female, it should not matter—His influence should be observed. Forgive me, Lord, when it is not. Help me to live in ways so that it will. By Your grace, I want to live godly today. I want to honor You with my choices, not disappoint You. Enable me then to turn away from the worldly desires which seek to dominate my thoughts and choose to live in the freedom I now have in Christ Jesus, Your Son. Teach me to live sensibly, with self-control, reflecting the purity and dignity that Jesus makes possible. This is not a dream. Jesus died to redeem me from every lawless deed. Enable me to live today in the power of His redemption. Be glorified in me!
